The biggest obstacle on this film was the English.

[director] Hark [Tsui] made us do some very intensive training. For almost two months we had to learn how to walk, how to bow, all the small, subtle gestures and we had a very intensive dialect class.

I didn’t know much about immortals and goddesses before I made this film. We did a lot of research and I think goddesses are artists. They are very strong women and very independent. Of course they live in a very special world and have a very strict code of conduct.

Ummm, those would be extracts from interviews about MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA with the Geisha replaced by immortals, to make it sound as though she was talking about a new English-language film... which is actually a dubbed + edited version of a film shot 5 years ago and in Chinese (and in which she really only had a cameo in the original cut).
