Anyone notice this:

Titles that the fund is expected to handle include Wong Kar Wai's "My Blueberry Nights," the opening-night film at the Festival de Cannes, and a remake of the Hong Kong martial arts movie "Come Drink With Me," directed by Quentin Tarantino.

When it comes to remaking classic Hong Kong martial arts pictures, no name leaps faster to my mind than Quentin Tarantino . I'll believe it when I see it, I suppose. And then after that, maybe he'll do something original.

Vaguely recall Tarantino was doing a 'Chinese' film but haven't kept close tabs.

Stumbled across this searching the blogs, though:

Asiaphile Quentin Tarantino does a photo shoot in GQ with two naked Asian female models. “In one shot, Tarantino is bound up on the floor by one model while the other attempts to kiss him while hanging from a nearby wall.”

[edit] Linn Haynes mentioned Avenging Eagle here:

God, those GQ spreads have got to be the most retarded thing I've ever seen, even from Tarantino, who as an artist is little more than the sum total of his influences. It's things like that, unfortunately, that give the rest of us non-Asian fans of Asian cinema (not to mention world cinema!) and culture a bad reputation, especially, it would seem, in the eyes of folks at sites like angryasianman.com. It's bad enough that everyone has to be subjected to his incresingly disturbing foot fetishes, but this is just tasteless.

Not surprisingly, I could see Thomas Weisser getting those framed...

I haven't ventured to look yet myself - afraid that it wouldn't be 'office friendly'.
