CHINESE ingenue Zhang Yuqi paid the price for vanity recently when she returned to the set of Stephen Chow’s movie after undergoing double eyelid surgery during a week’s break in filming...

What price vanity? In Zhang’s case, it could be costly.

Well, that was really, really stupid of her...

Stupid, but she is only eighteen years old and probably had no idea of what the term "continuity" meant on a movie set. Although I image she knows exactly what it is now. Eighteen year olds often do dumb things without thinking--so do others, of course, but not many teenagers are in a position to do something stupid that would necessitate a significant reshoot/rework in a big movie.

Chow could call Brian De Palma if he wants to swap stories about what wacky actresses do during breaks. During "Bonfire of the Vanities", Melanie Griffith had her breasts enhanced which required a lot of work-arounds.

Chow only just started shooting sometime last month (Sept) so I think the damage might not be too bad, as far as the filming goes.
