From that Tony Jaa article:
especially with Jet Li’s alleged impending retirement from such genre fare and Jackie Chan - who cameos here in a wordless, non-action scene that serves to pass the baton from one generation of martial arts screen star to the next

Somewhat annoyingly, this keeps being put out there by uninformed sources. The guy that is in the movie is not Jackie Chan, but a Thai celebrity impersonator that makes his living looking like Chan. A similar rumor was floated about Ong Bak, where people claim that Takeshi Kitano appears in the underground fight club scene, when in fact it is a very famous Muay Thai fighter and instructor named Kruu Yodthong Senanan. He also appears in the stunt-filled Born to Fight (Kerd ma lui) from 2004.
