For those who weren't aware, comedian Eddie Griffin crashed a $1.3 million Enzo Ferrari the other day at a publicity event for the upcoming race movie REDLINE (the media say it was $1.5 million and "totalled" ). But look who else managed to get a little camera time:

Yeah, I heard about it on the radio, but nice to see the actual video.
So, is Jackie going to be in the film, too?

I think Chan was just taking part in a charity race that was timed to promote the movie. Unless he's got some kind of uncredited cameo...

Funny shot of Griffin here:

I've always liked Eddie Griffin, never seen his movies but he had that sitcom briefly.

I never expected to like UNDERCOVER BROTHER as much as I did! Lowered expectations, I suppose, especially considering the web-comic on which it was based was awful. Griffin tends to play the same kind of one-note hustler character—Eddie Griffin, basically—in most of his movies, but if you can take him on that level, he usually delivers.

I'm still not that stoked about REDLINE, though. I love car chase/race movies, but I prefer it when they actually WRECK the cars, and not just offscreen like Griffin. Years ago, there was a filmmaker named Toby Halicki who made two drive-in car chase classics called GONE IN 60 SECONDS and THE JUNKMAN, both of which feature some insane stunt driving for the vast majority of their running times and car deaths into the (literal) hundreds, including some expensive classics. They remade GONE a few years ago with Nic Cage and wrecked maybe five or six cars. I hear in REDLINE they wreck an expensive Porsche or two, but that seems pretty weak to me!

The previews I saw for Undercover Brother looked pretty good. I've been meaning to try and catch it but it's on a long list.
