The last line of this story seems unneccessarily harsh:

The wannabe starlet says she will continue to chase her long-cherished dream of becoming a Broadway star, even though she hasn't made it on Broadway after spending eight years in New York looking for opportunities.

I wonder if the author of the piece formerly wrote some of the famously callous actor bios for Hong Kong DVD releases.

The shooting was even featured on the half hour BBC news program last night.

Ahmed said the seafood and pho noodle restaurant has changed ownership three times in the last five years, yet it always remained a late-night eatery open from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. A few days ago, a handwritten sign appeared on the front window reading "video surveillance has been installed," he said, perhaps a sign the restaurant was expecting trouble.

Neighbour Bob Wells said he has eaten at the restaurant a number of times, but stopped going about a year ago. "It used to be a great place, but now it's become sort of a gang hangout," he said, adding it serves an "after-casino crowd" of young people in their 20s and 30s, who drive expensive cars.
