Carina Lau Best Actress co-award for Curiosity Kills the Cat
The 16th Golden Rooster Film Awards were presented in Suzhou yesterday and after a long absence from the awards arena, Carina Lau (劉嘉玲) marked her comeback in her native city, taking the Best Actress award for her performance in Curiosity Kills The Cat <好奇害死貓>.

When the annoucement was made by Zhang Zhen (張震) and Tao Hong (陶紅), Carina was congratulated by boyfriend Tony Leung (梁朝偉) with a kiss on the forehead. She said that to receive this award in the town where she was born was a great honour and she thanked the luck that her hometown has brought her. She later celebrated her success with good friends including Faye Wong (王菲), Li Yapeng (李亞鵬) and Shu Qi (舒淇) in a bar and asked whether or not she will considering marriage soon, she smiled that she will consider it again because her age is about right and she is in a fairly good mood.

China's moon programme achieves lift-off
The Chang'e One orbiter will beam back to the earth 32 songs selected by the Chinese government and public, including the national anthem and the classic revolutionary tune The East is Red, also broadcast by China's first satellite in 1970.

Most are patriotic and traditional, but they will also include moon-themed ones, such as Chinese pop diva Faye Wong's rendition of a famous Song Dynasty poem.

from the above:

"Negative examples" and "controversial figures" have for the first time being added to the nominations to serve as a warning, according to Wang.

The Chinese Environmental Razzies. Cool . . . Would it qualify as irony if they held the ceremonies in Beijing?

Now if the Oscars, Grammys, Tonys, Golden Globes, Emmys and so on had categories like these, I might be tempted to get cable again! ;)

One would think that if any of those three walked into a bar it would be memorable but all three of them (even though Faye was accompanied by her husband) might make the place explode. :D
