"Denise revealed that Stephen had asked if she minded him asking about her views on homosexuality. She said that she did not mind at all because it has become part of the "package" associated with her now."

I don't get that. What am I missing?

Yeah, confusing. I think it refers to rumors of Denise's sexual preferences.

The newest sin city: Beijing?
Decades after China's repressive cultural revolution, the country has a sexual awakening:
http://www.thestar.com/article/274285

Under Mao Zedong, sexuality was taboo. As we see in archival footage, citizens were once silhouetted in unisex uniforms, clothing that symbolically reinforced the idea that men and women were expected to be comrades, not lovers.

Juxtapose these images with scenes from inside some of Beijing's throbbing nightclubs and you can see why the older generation is gobsmacked by a rebellious ethos of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll, one that is quickly turning their city into a hotbed of carnal hedonism not unlike the West in the '60s.
