Like kids in a sandbox, man! Fascinating piece. I'm can imagine Hollywood types aren't happy about the lost revenue (well, lost profits on most films, really; they'll still make back their money from all the other markets), but I'm sure the Chinese distributors and theatres will feel it a lot harder in the long run when the force-fed "approved" fare starts impacting the bottom line . . .

This was amusing:

When contacted by Daily Variety, China Film was circumspect and denied the existence of a ban. "There's no such thing. We've never heard anything about this," a spokesman said.
