Grasshopper received award performing in Toronto

The Asian Fanatics writer seems prone to hyperbole when he/she states that "all the major roads in the city centre were closed for the first time"! The "Taste Of Asia" festival requires the closure of only a section of one major road between stoplights, but it definitely slows down traffic for blocks around. Kinda bummed to know they kept the "special guests" secret until showtime, otherwise I might have popped over there again this year, but I suppose advertising it would have drawn more crowds than the area could have handled.

This festival takes place right beside Pacific Mall (though Market Square, mentioned in the article, sits on the same property). Wonder if the Grasshopper guys got a chance to go inside and sign the plentiful bootlegs of their CDs!

I don't know if this appeared on the news page when it happened, but I heard today that Wong Yu (of DIRTY HO fame) died in May. Kinda gutted  . No idea how he died though but he couldn't have been that old.

Yes, Fan reported to us in the 5/16 edition.

He died of pneumonia. The article reports that he had had two previous heart surgeries.

He would have been almost 53 at the time of his death.

Thanks for that. I did try a Forum search, but got far too many results!

Very sad news, that.
