I decided to pop in for a bit since it's been a while since I left for a break, which was supposed to be for a few weeks, but as usual things are never simple and plans change.
At first I stuck to my plan and spent about a week playing through some of the games in my library that have been waiting for ages (years in some cases). It was a nice break and it was great to finally play Little Nightmares 2.
Then after that I decided to watch something instead and while doing that, transfer some of my messier notes (some pages looked like the deranged scribbles of some nutcase, then again maybe that's me
) onto new paper. But maybe because the short rest, I suddenly had a period of clarity, where things just kept clicking and I wound up doing more research.This lasted for about 2 or more weeks and was very productive, though I did put a lot of overtime into it too, the exact opposite of what I was supposed to be doing. At the same time as this, my tech-minded friend built a new PC for me, which has improved the speed and quality, but there are a couple of bugs that still need sorting. This made the research take a bit longer than expected too, taking more time away from what was supposed to be a period of relaxation.
As if that wasn't enough of a diversion, we also had a family emergency. About a week ago, my nanna had a bad fall and was taken to hospital. She'd shattered her hip and would need surgery, but the doctors confirmed the other day that they won't be able to operate due to her heart being too weak. She's not going to be able to leave the hospital again. She's had a lifelong phobia of hospitals due to a traumatic childhood experience, so this a particularly cruel fate.
We've been up there to see her every other day and as you can guess, the whole situation is pretty stressful. The last few weeks have been pretty chaotic, with great highs and terrible lows (sometimes in the same day), so I've not yet had a proper period of relaxation. So I still won't be back to my research for another few weeks.
I just thought that I'd give an update as it's already been a while since my last post and it's going to be a bit longer before I'm back fully. While at it I can do a couple of updates to the site that'll be quick and simple as they don't involve and pictures.
