Shu Qi appeared an endless stream of made-for-video Playboy-style tapes prior to her breakthrough 1997. None of them could be called movies in the strict definition of the term.

I would classify Shu Qi's Body Show (listed here in HKMDB) as an example of one of her non-movies.

My recommendation - either we allow the entry of all her made-for-video non-theatrical appearanace (such as this title). Or alternatively we could just delete the row. I opt for the latter.

Here are some YesAsia links to the rest of her... body.... of work.

http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=3803&did=0&code=c§ion=videos&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=1001828950&did=0&code=c§ion=videos&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=1001803727&did=0&code=c§ion=videos&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=1000035880&did=0&code=c§ion=videos&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=7278&did=0&code=c§ion=videos&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=4683&did=0&code=c§ion=posters&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=4683&did=0&code=c§ion=posters&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=1000023579&did=0&code=c§ion=posters&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=1000023578&did=0&code=c§ion=posters&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=1000016560&did=0&code=c§ion=videos&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=1000010504&did=0&code=c§ion=posters&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=1000002554&did=0&code=c§ion=posters&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=1000003052&did=0&code=c§ion=posters&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=3403&did=0&code=c§ion=videos&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=2629&did=0&code=c§ion=videos&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=1000022642&did=0&code=c§ion=videos&
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx?pid=6007&did=0&code=c§ion=posters&

This is one of many issues where I've been calling for standards in for a long time. John, you're the first other person to raise this particular possible standard.

My view is somewhat different, though not really opposite. Briefly, I contend that any product marketed in any format as a movie, especially featuring a famous HK/Taiwanese actor, is fair game to list as a movie.

Sure, you and I and others who regularly chat on these noticeboards know a made-for-video special when we see it. But many other people don't. They browse through the incredibly chaotic VCD shelves of a Chinese video shop or on the net or wherever, where no clear distinction is made between movies, video, body shows or whatever. They like the look of Shu Ki (who wouldn't), and they log on to hkmdb for a review or more info. Why deny them that info ?

And lastly, the Body Show listed is far from Playboy style. Shu Ki is not shown full frontal, and barely manages topless. And, though it cannot be certain to have been filmed in that year, it was datestamped 1999, well after she became famous.
The more data, the merrier then. Provided of course it is accurate.

Tracking the number of TV titles on Modern Audio (most not in HKMDB) will be a minor challenge. And there's a growing mountain of direct-to-video digital camera product.

But that's another post.
