Hi guys

It's been a while since I've been on the HKMDB forums! Anyway, I've been subtitling DVDs and using HKMDB to source the Chinese names. However, credits that are in the film are missing in HKMDB listings (and sometimes the other way about). I thought since HKMDB helped me, I should contribute in return and it only makes sense as help goes both ways. It's a fantastic reference site and I don't know why I haven't been sooner to the forum itself to investigate these films! I've taken images to see if you can attach names and titles.

For this one, it's been a bit of a head-scratcher as some of the professions don't seem right, but as soon as these are sorted, I will verify if my suspicions are correct.

Sam Shum doesn't appear to be on HKMDB, so I was hoping his Chinese name be checked, then add his English name and credentials.

'Olivia Mok Bassett' is the Production Secretery, but listed in other films as Production Manager. She's not in the HKMDB listing for this film, but should be.

Can you check out this 'Huang Zo See'? I couldn't find him in HKMDB.

Mai Ho is here (please check his profession as it doesn't seem to match HKMDB's, unless he has two jobs), but there's another person who doesn't appear to be on the film's page.

Stanley Hui is listed as Stanley Hsu in the film.

Planning (Leonard Ho) is listed as 'Production Supervised by' in the film.

Welcome back! If only more folks would follow your lead. There's been a lot of additions (and corrections and improvements) to the database the past couple of years or more, and there will be plenty more ahead, but there are many folks out there who could have helped us along even faster with their accumulated resources and knowledge. Maybe someday . . .

Is the procedure of HKMDB to add new people if they're unlisted?

For the alternative characterisation (like English names), do HKMDB add those too for easier reference?

I don't see Chinese aliases in HKMDB's listings (just English ones).

Kwok Lee Man, for instance.

ahh - yes, the Chinese aliases are somewhat sparse. Some do have them, I.e.Ku Feng

they can certainly be added at any time

Each of us choose what we do.
In general, I simply note new people and calros adds them.

Click the big5 link at the top right. If there is one, it'll be there.

These two aren't in the HKMDB listing.

There's two credits out of the four translated on the film (Lighting and Cinematographer are on HKMDB fine). Mai Ho is here, but I don't know if his occupation matches and there's someone else.

Dialogue Recording and Sound Effects are jobs that do not exist in our DB so they cannot be added. Mai Ho is Set Decorator, which I usually add as Art Director in 2nd place. Added F/X.

No, one thing are Sound Recordist, Sound Mixer (which are in our DB) and another different thing are DR and SE.

1. is 劇照 Still Photographer (not in our DB). Fan Kam-Teng is 劇務 Stage Manager (not in our DB).
