Found the trailer for this tucked away (among many) on the bonus disc for KUNG FU CHEFS. Scene gallery is here. Not enough closeups to attempt portraits, but hopefully some keen eyes here will be able to ID some people.



Obviously, this is a retitle. In the DB this is called NEW SEVEN DRAGON BALL. In the credits below, it's DRAGON BALL - THE MAGIC BEGINS, which is already an alias in the DB.

Calros' uploaded VCD poster is copyright 2001; this trailer has a copyright of 2007 as seen below; and movie was apparently made in 1991. Clearly a film that can be re-squeezed for a few bucks every now and then. Incidentally, the poster in the DB lists names in front of all the characters. Are those character names, or actor names? Seems like there's more people on the poster than we have in the cast list.

Credits on the trailer are in English only, but provide full English spellings of a lot of Chinese names (including a new alias for the director) for whatever that's worth. I assume this has never been released on DVD? I wonder if the inclusion of the trailer on the KFC Deluxe Edition is a sign that My Way Film might be digging this one out of the vault yet again:
