Front and back of VCD named Xian Massacre, at

Please enter Xian Massacre as an alias for Slaughter in Xian.
Also, year is probably 1990, not 1987.
The genre is more crime drama than martial arts, and most of the characters are policemen.

32 credit images at

Portraits and scan caps are on the way.

I added 55 portraits and 21 screen captures to the 32 credit images.

Note that disc 1 and disc 2 of the Xian Massacre VCD have very
different image qualities.

The first disc has rich blacks.

The second disc's images have a washed-out quality, there is a
registration problem at the top of the frame, and the English
subtitles sometimes fall downward so far out of the bottom of
the frame that they are illegible.

Match-ups with actors and roles are as follows:

Dung Chi-Wa as Vice Captain Ho Yuen Sun
? as Fu Tin Ho (Vice Captain Ho Yuen Sun's buddy)
Ku Wing-Chuen as Captain Ma
Do Yuk-Ming as Tong
Chui Siu-Kin as Mr. Kuk
? as Liu Man, the pickpocket

I think it was not necessary adding 10 photos of the impalement of that poor man.

Added 3 co-directors, pres., prod., prod. man., phot., mus., ed., art dir., assit. dir., continuity, makeup, props, and 6 actors.

Indentified 12 actors.

I agree - that's getting close to the infringement issues that Bob brought up before...

In a way, I thought so, too, and yet, this entire sequence appears in the
documentary Yang ± Yin: Gender in Chinese Cinema (1996), directed by
Stanley Kwan Kam-Pang -- which is not in the HKMDb, by the way -- and it
represents a key plot point in Slaughter in Xian. In fact, the sequence
precipitates the slaughter of the film's title.

I'm glad you commented, and I have since removed all but 1 screen cap:
the one where Captain Ma makes reference to what will transpire in the
scene. Objectively speaking, I feel that that 1 screen cap is more than
enough. That scene is over-the-top even for Chang Cheh, and that's
saying a lot.

Great! This will help substantially in my current viewing of the VCD of
Hidden Hero (1990), which has much the same cast as Journey to the
West (1991), but also has several cast members from Slaughter in Xian.

Also, thanks for changing the date of Slaughter in Xian from 1987 to 1990.

I apologize. I thought there was the vague possibility that too many
screen caps from one sequence might be frowned upon. Now I know.

I have since removed 8 out of the 9 screen caps from this sequence.

Match-ups with actors and roles are as follows:

Dung Chi-Wa as Vice-captain Ho Yuen Sun
Chow Lung as Fu Tin Ho
Ku Wing-Chuen as Captain Ma
Do Yuk-Ming as Tong
Chui Siu-Kin as Mr. Kuk
Lok Woon-Yau as Liu Man
