It is of course right that we adapt the names to the country of birth. It was silly that as example Hu Chin was in the hkmdb a long time Woo Gam.
But it will take a while until I get used to some of the "new" names.
For example, when I talk to my brother about Hung Kin-Wing, he will always stay Hung Kin-Wing, and I can not stop that after many years of using that name :?
The same with Ma Cheung, Wong Ching-Lam and many more...

Remember that the alias of Hung King-Wing will remain in the alias field, so if you search Hung King-Wing in our DB, the engine will bring you to Hong Chian-Yong

The problem is that the first editors of this DB did not know Mandarin, so they added all the names in Cantonese, not only Taiwanese people, also from PRC.

The 90% of Hung ' s movies were made in Taiwan. He only filmed 5 of his 83 films in HK. So why must be written his name in Cantonese?

My old Geography books say "Peking" and my old History books say "Mao Tse-Tung". During 50 years all of us said Peking and Mao Tse-Tung and one day somebody said... "Hey! actually they are Beijing and Mao Zedong!"
