I was updating the crew and cast of this film: http://hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mhtml?id=7988 and noticed three names that do not appear in the on-screen credits:

http://hkmdb.com/db/people/view.mhtml?id=10948 ?? Yuen Lai
http://hkmdb.com/db/people/view.mhtml?id=10949 ?? Wong Hin (3)

None of them have any other credits except for 'Wong Hin', but his only other credit is a 1985 Mainland film, almost certainly a different actor with the same name. Since they clearly don't appear in "Trouble Maker" I'll remove them soon (the first two should probably be deleted from the database too), but I'm curious if anyone has any idea where these names came from.

In general when you see people IDs in that range (10,000s), the initial submission date not only predates all editors here (except STSH), it predates my own database transaction logs which go back to 1999. I see calros was the last one to update basic info on the first one, but that was 8 years ago. So at this point, just use best judgement as always.

I think there are 2 versions of this movie, the Taiwanese and the HK version, with different titles. Some credits are different in each version. So I suspect some actors appear in the credits of one version but not in the other.

I checked both versions and there are no differences in the cast credits.

The problem is the HKFA lists these names. Where did they get them from? Perhaps from a third copy?

Existence in HKFA is proof of absolutely nothing. It is not a primary source. And I really do not ever want HKFA data lifted and considered as a primary source of information to update information here.

The number one rule of this database is NOT "warn of changes or deletions in the forum beforehand". The number one rule is do not take data from other secondary sources and apply them here. Cross-checking as additional validation is acceptable of course.

So unless there is evidence to the contrary, remove the credits, yukabacera. Excellent work.
