"Du Yue-Sheng" directed by Chen Kaige?

I found this link on another HKM forum:
http://www.newsgd.com/enjoylife/enterta ... 140029.htm

...and since then, there seems to be almost no more information. My further search only unearthed this:
http://www.monkeypeaches.com/0410M.html#041012A

It was supposed to be a quasibiography of the notorious triad boss "Big-Eared Du" - and the subject interests me considerably. Does anyone know if the film is being shot now... or was the project put on hold or even called off?

(By the way, are there other titles based on such real figures and events? I have "Casino", "Lord of East China Sea" - mentioned in the link, in fact - as well as "To be Number One")

On the subject of turd-polishing, the following are all based on real-life figures.

TRAGIC FANTASY: THE TIGER OF WANCHAI
OPERATION BILLIONAIRES
KING OF ROBBERY
MIDNIGHT EXPRESS IN ORIENT (about the producer of KING OF ROBBERY)
LEE ROCK I and II
BIG SPENDER
CASINO

And here's an excellent book detailing the actual events surrounding many of the figures portrayed in the movies above, THE HONG KONG MURDERS, by Kate Whitehead:

Sadly, no reviews at Amazon, but if counts for anything, it's probably one of the best overviews of the Hong Kong crime scene out there, and also provides the real-life backstoies for Cat. III classics like DR. LAMB, REMAINS OF A WOMAN and HUMAN PORK CHOP/THERE IS A SECRET IN MY SOUP as well!
