AKA: Hak bak sam lam. AKA: Hei bai sen lin. Please tell me what you think of this film. Is it any good? Is it worth buying a copy of?

I have not seen it, but the reviews for it on HKMDB have been excellent, averaging about a 9/10 each time with 7 reviews.

For whatever it's worth, I thought it was remarkably good. You can tell it was made in the wake of INFERNAL AFFAIRS, but the similarities are at best cosmetic as this film has a decent story in its own right, with some clever twists and turns. Nicely subdued direction, too, which is a bit of a surprise in a Wong Jing movie sometimes. I especially liked the writing of the relationship between Anthony Wong and his father.

This is a good movie-nothing out of this world, but a solid effort. I think you'll like it. I agree about the Anthony Wong relationship with his father. Nice touch.
