Suspicious films

Postby Gaijin84 » Fri Mar 09, 2012 2:41 pm

Does anyone have solid info that these Dragon Lee movies exist?

The Magnificent Duo (1977)
Superfist (1976)
Wild Dragon Lady (1976)

No Big5 title, no cast/crew other than Dragon Lee, and word is that he very rarely made films in Taiwan. Can whoever added these shed some light on where the info came from? Are these possible aliases for other films?

thanks

I didn't add to db, but a quick Google search on Wild Dragon Lady turns it up as alias for GI Excutioner aka Wit's End (1971) which IMDB has Dragon Lee in cast

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070087/

A couple more credits for Superfist there, too

I saw that too, but other than the alias, nothing seems to indicate they are a match. Taiwan? Year? Seems weird. If someone has access to that movie I'd love to know if he's actually in it. IMDB is notoriously poor at that kind of thing.

It looks to me like someone just looked at Lee's IMDB credits and added the additional ones (Superfist, Magnificent Duo, etc) to the database here...

it's probably been reissued numerous times and whomever entered it came across the 1976/1977 version and presumed it was from TW. :?:

Found this listing for a 1981 screening in NYC (look under Bronx, Kent theater) :D

I've put "GI Executioner" at the top of my Netflix queue, we'll see if Dragon Lee is really the "Malay that attacks Dave.' I can't wait to see this film :x

Ok, watched the Troma film "G.I Executioner," aka "Wild Dragon Lady." According to additional research, it was shot in 1971, but in Singapore, not Taiwan. The main point though for this forum, Dragon Lee is not in the film. He is credited as "the Malay that attacks Dave." As we can clearly see from the screen shots below, this actor is not Dragon Lee.

As before, I think an editor here saw the imdb entry and copied the missing films they saw into the HKMDB database. If no one objects, I'll delete the film "Wild Dragon Lady" from the database in 3 days.
