Probably one of the best kickers who never became a big star, a shame as he had some great skills, I'd happily put him up there with some of the big name superkickers, some of which I'd say he has the edge on. His best role in my opinion would probably be Magnificent Natural Fist, where he plays one of the lead villains, a samurai who is just as deadly with his feet as he is with the blade.
In fact all the lead villains really get to show their stuff in that film, aside from the Dhalsim style stretchy limbs that Choe Jeong-il uses in the finale and too much under-cranking at times, I'd say it's one of the finest kickfests you're ever likely to see, a must have for any lovers of the boot.
Easily mixed up with Kim Yeong-il because of similar names, they are both great kickers and they appear in several films together, he was even given the other's credit on the HKMDB page for 7-Star Grand Mantis, which I have corrected. He was correctly credited on 10 Shaolin Disciples; Deadly Shaolin Longfist; and Invincible Obsessed but had not been ID'd yet. I also tagged him in Gaijin84's pic on Longfist.
