Black Belt (Kuro-obi)

I highly recommend this film for anyone looking for a great karate-based dramatic film. Set in 1930's Japan, the army is taking over dojos for their own use. They find unusual resistance when they come across a small school in the countryside. when the school's master passes away, the three students must decide who carries on their schools tradition and inherits the black belt. Very authentic karate is used (all people that use the art in the film are actual masters) and the story is quite good (although simple). Pick it up if you get a chance.

A warning though, if you want to really enjoy the fight scenes, avoid the trailer as it really gives away some of the best moments. Luckily I saw the movie in full before the trailer, and I'm very glad I did.
