While checking over some of my Korean films data I was able to come to some decisions on some ID's that I'd been puzzling over for some time. So I have quite a few people I've done KUPs for that will be getting one or two new IDS, but I also have a few corrections to make, fortunately in those cases I pretty sure I now have the correct person ID'd and will be doing their very own KUPs in the future. I was also sorting through a folder of pics I've came across (mostly bts or production stills) and found some interesting pics that give a bit of insight into the cast of films I haven't been able to watch, so I've added a few that include actors I've done KUPS for already.
Rivals Of The Silver Fox [1979] is one I'm constantly looking over again and again, it continues to be a nightmare. At first I was happy to discover so many uncredited actors I could give their due, many of them being in multiple roles. But every time I look over it again it gets more complicated
I've had to make some corrections regarding some Ids involving similar looking actors, but the good news is that I'm more confident with this latest session and spotted some new roles and some new actors too.I mixed one or two pics of Lee Hwa-jin with another uncredited actor, who's KUP will be coming in the future, but I'm also confident that I spotted him in another brief role that I had originally thought was this other actor who I've not been able to identify. I believe he shows up a few times in multiple roles, but most notably as one of the jailers, we get a close look at him in profile and then head on, he is almost the spitting image of Lee Hwa-jin, but every time I look at him there's just something off, particularly his nose. As I say, he does look just like him, so much so that I wonder if they're related, but I haven't seen him in any other films, I did check the other films I spotted Lee uncredited but I still believe they're Lee rather than this guy, did he really just do the one film? I'm stuck in this case, hopefully some day it will be made clear.
Another correction I made was Park Yoon-geun, I removed him entirely from this film and Lone Shaolin Avenger [1977], as I believe both IDs belong to another person, it had always been a toss up between the two and I believe fatigue had got the better of me.
Pretty much the same situation with Hong Seong-yeong in Lone Shaolin Avenger [1977], it was 50/50 for me between him and another actor, looking at it again I think I picked the wrong one.
Finally we have a two for one on The Legend Of Peach Blossom [1983], sadly I have to remove an ID of both Won Jin and Yoo Chang-guk as I now believe both belong to another uncredited actor that I was uncertain about before, but now I'm confident he is in the film I believe these IDs are more likely to be him even though he shares some similar features to the other two actors. Hopefully Frédéric Ambroisine will be able to succeed in releasing a restored version so I can get a better look at everyone
Edit: This came to my attention just the other day, I'm happy to add another Won Jin film to his Korean filmography, Love Song Adding More Love [2024] which has finally been released on 23-Oct-2025. Won Jin served as the film's action director, but it doesn't seem like he'll be making an appearance. But it's nice to see him still working with fellow Ottugi member Ham Cheol-hoon who also was part of the film crew.
Good news is I'm pretty certain that my new choices are correct and they're for actors that will also be getting KUPs of their own in the future.
So now I'll do these corrections on these people's respective KUP pages and then move on to the good stuff, some new IDs to add, starting with these two that don't have their own KUP pages, yet
