Hero of Swallow 1996 ID's and Stills

Postby p.i.klein » Fri Nov 04, 2005 2:10 pm

Got some portrets without names and some stills from the film HERE.

Please let me know if you recognize someone.

If you can get the film's credits (front and end), please post them. That'll help the IDs.

I don't like posted credits.
First: it takes a lot of time to put all those credits in a post.
Second: you need server space to put those credits.
Third: every time you want to read a post, where credits are displayed, all those pictures appear again. For most of us that's quite boring!

I can send you a mail with those pics, if you want it, but there are no other actors credited, then those who are already in the DB.

I use photobucket to host credit captures - you don't need your own server space. I'm not sure calros would agree that the posts with credits in are boring!

Thanks for the photobucket tip!

I said 'most of us', not all of us.
Sometimes it takes quite some time to get all those stills and if you've seen them before, you won't like that.

Does anyone have a problem with my creating a forum dedicated completely to posting credit images.

Posting credit images is a cornerstone of our building an accurate database, and it's certainly not going to be going away. I cannot overemphasize how much everyone's efforts in this regard have been tremendous in making the database much more accurate.

That's 90% of what goes on in "Additions & Modifications", surely?

It'd be nice if people without full db access had somewhere to post them though, as a contribution towards getting DB access (though people wouldn't be able to see which films already had complete credits  )

I agree!
But there's an other way of making the credit stills accesible without filling a forum topic with dozens of stills; put them on a 'site'.
I've done that with portrets of unknown actors and filmstills.

You just need serverspace and a nice program and all you have to do is post a line with:

credits of 'XXXXXXXX' can be found HERE.

You can find something of the kind HERE.

I agree all around here. How about splitting the Add/Mods forum into images and non-images...and in the meantime I will attampt to get a some better "temporary image management" in place.

Do you mean a forum index adds/mods; text and pictures in one, plus a forum index adds/mods; plain text only.

or

do you mean posts with plain text, with links to posts with pictures (and links back to the post) only. In the picture-post, answers must not be allowed.

How more I think about it, the more I like the second one. You can easely have one window on your screen with the pics, while you put the post in the other screen (which is the way I often use).
