Considering just how many changes here happen within 9 to 12 days of their being brought up (properly) in the forums, the 15 day rule could be tightened up. Of course, that would probably require Bob to actually make a change to the written rules, and such structural alterations don't really happen here.
I took a little heat in another thread here today for joking that I'd make a change in 15 hours and 46 minutes, which, as I said there, was only a "half-joke" because a) I couldn't really do it that fast and b) I also don't think a full two weeks is necessary when history shows we do it in 9-12 days, which should be more than enough time for every editor to log in at least once to voice their dissent.
(personally, I wouldn't object if the time span was even shorter, like 7-10 days, just as long as ALL potential changes are properly noted in the forums. Of course, if that doesn't happen, it's no big deal. I've noticed a few odds 'n ends in the DB over the years that to my knowledge were not vetted using accepted procedures, but thankfully it's doesn't seem to be the norm these days)
