Chang Yu name change

In all his Shaw Brothers and Golden Harvest movies he is listed in the credits as Chang Yi or Chang I, most of the time Chang Yi. Also in movies like THE TORMENTOR, STORMY SUN and FURY IN STORM it is Chang Yi. Examples:

I greatly agree with you.
He is called Chang Yi in Japan.
No one calls him Chang Yu.
