The Secret Rivals [1975] - update

Updated the page for The Secret Rivals, most notably adding some missing cast members, and removed one: Kim Kwang-il as this was actually the credit belonging to Nam Po-dong, but used his birth name of Kim Kwang-il. I believe I've ID'd the Chinese stuntmen correctly, but please feel free to look it over and let me know if you think there might be a mistake. The Secret Rivals was one I'd started work on a little while ago but it got put on hold (like so many things ), but I thought I'd do it now as a little test, to see which method feels better to me, updating by film or by person.

I think the test proves to me that I was right in my assumption and that it'll probably be easier for me to go by person rather than by film. But I will go by film from time to time, and I'm thinking of using some films as a sort of template for working though a few actors, Kwangdong Viper is a good example as it has so many of the top names in it.

Starting with two of the top guys Hwang Choon-soo and Park Hui-jin (who actually feature in this The Secret Rivals so I've technically already started ) which I will upload shortly.

1) This was the one I was least sure on, it does look a lot like him though.

2) I just went back and watched the footage and I think you're right about him switching out during the fight. I think you're also right about this shot actually being To Wai-wo, annoying as this was the best close up I could get . Nice work.

3) I'm not as certain with this one, but he's not an actor I'm very familiar with, so I'll deffer to you on this one too.

I had been meaning to upload these redos for The Secret Rivals and Third Son Of Dragon King for a while, but other things were prioritised. Got there in the end though . Re-done my pics with slightly higher quality and lightened them in some cases, cut down some images so they make neater portraits and added a few more for a couple of cast members.


I also added Tian Long (5) as a Martial Arts Director for The Wonderman From Shaolin [1977], I had held off for a while as I wanted to double-check him possibly acting in the film too, but I believe the suspected actor in the film is someone else.

Just today, a mate pointed out the Korean release date for The Secret Rivals was 14-Nov-1975 and hadn't been added to our database. I actually did a big update for Secret Rivals a while back, but back then I was only focusing on the cast, rather than the crew and other details so I hadn't added that date.

added Hangul names of HK actors where available and updated the pages of the Korean cast and crew where possible
