I had these ready in December and was hoping to upload it before Xmas, but due to the family circumstances, I never had enough spare time to upload them, so here they are now.
It's a shame that these films were such low budget and filed with "state-of-the-act" SFX, because there's some great action in here, especially if you like kicks. Several of the main cast had backgrounds in Korean styles and although they had some success in their own countries, never became as big of stars as they should have been. The only exception would be the late Darren Shalavi, who passed away just as it seemed he was finally about to hit the big time.
I'd seen Lee Kwang-soo in a few Korean production and knew he had the skills, but even he had a short run in Korea. I believe it's because by that time the Jeong Doo-hong style of action had taken over and there wasn't much interest in the more HK style of action that Lee was much more suited to. It was a bit of a surprise that he hadn't been listed on the HKMDB credits before.
But the big surprise was the Filipino stars, I wasn't expecting them to be so good at kicking, especially Monsour Del Rosario as he seemed quite burly looking too, I was expecting him to be the usual big bruiser. But when doing research it turned out that the'd both trained for a long time in Korean styles and were both TKD champions.
I did try to figure out the IDs of Simon Yeung Siu-gwong, King Tang Yiu-kwong and Alan Chan Yiu-lun but to no avail. I thought Alan might be one of the gunmen wearing camo, but I just couldn't be sure. There's also several Filipino actor playing villains, but I don't know them, though at least one looks familiar to me.
There weren't any IDs at all yet so they're all new and I added a bit of info to most of the actors involve. Brand new (not ID'd before in any film) was Karin Perathoner, it seems this was one of the only things she was ever credited on. And new to the database altogether are: Lee Kwang-soo; January Isaac Bodlovic; and Niño Muhlach. I also added The Philippines as a filming location.
