Heart to Hearts: what's the name of that song?

Postby cpardo » Tue Jul 05, 2005 7:17 am

Just what's the name of that catchy tune in Heart to Hearts (1988) with George Lam and Carol Cheng?

You can tell me the cantonese title, I can read a little chinese. I want to look for a cd that has it on it. If you know the english translation that may help too. Thanks.

Okay, the theme song, according to the HKFA, is 三心一意.
It is track 15 on this George Lam CD. Cheap at $9.99, too. The CD seems to be a collection of movie and TV themes. Maybe someone who's Chinese is better than mine (that would be anyone) can confirm:

Song 1 - King of Beggar theme song - Cantonese version
Song 2 - Heart Against Hearts
Song 3 - OUTIC2 theme
Song 4 - It's a Drink, It's a Bomb
Song 5 ?
Song 6 - Wonder Women
Song 7 - Starry is the Night
Song 8 - Banana Cop
Song 9 - King of Beggars - Mandarin
Song 12 - A Bite of Love

It's been awhile, but those Heart movies were a lot of fun. Carol DoDo Cheng and George Lam made a great duo.

heart to hearts song

Good. thanks. I looked at that cd yesterday, but I wasn't sure the name of the song.

do you happen to know the phonetic english spelling of the song title?
For example "Ni" is the name of a faye wong song. If I knew that, I can figure it out easily. i can't read the title you just gave, though.

Now that you got me to go back and rewatch the Heart series again, I have a simple question: Who does Suki Kwan play in the second film, HEART INTO HEARTS? I'm stumped, I cannot for the life of me figure out which character she plays. (Frankly, I was really never too familar with her in the first place.)

My first thought is that she plays the somewhat shy office assistant in the wire rims whom everyone tries to look down her cleavage. And secondly, who plays the loud, cranky female assistant that appears in both films?

Lastly, horrors of horrors, I just discovered I never picked up the third film, HEART AGAINST HEARTS, and it's now out of print. I didn't get it at the time I bought the other two because of the negative reviews that I read here. But look who's sorry now.

heart into hearts

I'll have to rewatch heart into hearts too, and look for Suki. Though I think you're on the right track. I haven't seen the 3rd one either. Though the first is the best of what I've seen. The 2nd one was okay, even with Maggie in it!

If she is the office girl, there's quite a few scenes with her. I've included one screen shot among the film images.

I'll try and add the image below:

Suki Kwan - Yes/No?

I don't 'like' INTO HEARTS either, because it seems too different from the original film. But Maggie looks great and, objectively, it's not a bad film really. It just strikes me as incongruous and as some weird mutation of HK rom/com and future-Maggie art film. So, I guess I'm ambivalent about it. Somewhere at home, I have an alcohol-fueled review that might see light of day if I clean it up a bit first.

YES! That's definitely Suki Kwan Sau-mei! I forgot she was in the movie--one of her early ones I believe. She's sexy. Anyway I'm off track hehe, but that's her all right. The glasses probably threw us off, and her short hair.

Thank you very much. She seemed so sweet and mousy innocent, and yes the short hair and glasses said, "Nah couldn't be", to me.

Cheers.
