Anyone know anything about a movie titled My Whispering Plan?

Besides Francis, the cast is listed as Ambrose Hui/Xu Shao Yang and Xie Xin Ying; directed by Ju You Ning

LAST DANCE update

Postby Casey » Sun Feb 13, 2005 4:38 pm

Some accumulated research...

Cast:

Francis Ng
Ti Lung: http://ent.dayoo.com/gb/content/2004-12/02/content_1834618.htm
Vivian Hsu
Lawrence Wong: http://tabulas.com/~bryocketh/jump11.html Dec. 13 entry
Brendon Fernandez: http://www.action.org.sg/productioncontent_pg2.html

Here's the text of a post at Asian Fanatics about Francis:

He's currently filming an English movie "One Last Dance" (I think that's the name) with Di Long & Vivien Hsu in Singapore. Man, 3 days ago, he came to my company, with his wife, to buy something. I took a photo with him, he's so friendly, always smiling. Even when many of us request to take photos with him, he still put on a smiley face. What a great person with no airs like other big stars.

Then, Di Long came with his wife at around 7pm to meet up with the couple for dinner. But I left office then. So sad, did not get to see Di Long.

"Dack Night Wolf":
I need some days more to investigate this affair.
I cannot believe a film with such a cast, and from 2003, won't be in our Db, nor the HKFA File...

calros, thanks for your work on "Dack Night Wolf". Hope this new question is easier...

I don’t recognize this cover art, so I’m asking what movie is this?

Image

Using the IMPDb, Francis’ co-stars are Eric Tsang, Maggie Siu and Tiffany Lee.

At first I thought it was "The Loser's Club", but now I think it is a new movie, from 2004... I cannot add it to the Db because I need the english title...
You are talking about movies so new that I cannot add them yet.

EDIT: Added "Dack Night Wolf" to the Db. :)

TVB

Postby Casey » Mon Feb 21, 2005 2:39 am

Francis' movie fans may not realize that he appeared in over 50 TV series for TVB from 1982 - 2002.

Here's a picture from his 1992 series Land of the Condors

Image

From 1997, Old Time Buddy...

If there's anyone here that is an expert on TVB series, let me know because I have some pictures of Francis that I'm having trouble matching to a series. A couple of them are really funny!!

new movie?

Postby looloo82 » Mon Feb 21, 2005 9:34 pm

I found an article in chinese about Francis. I think it's about a new movie that also stars Andy Hui, Gallen Law, and Dicky Cheung. Has anyone hear any news about it?

Oh! :o

I think it is a TV series, a sitcom about cooking.

Now Ms. Casey is collecting info about Francis' TV series, maybe she has more info about this program.

MR. POSSESSED (1988)

Postby Casey » Sun Feb 27, 2005 1:34 pm

Francis isn't credited on the HKMDB for his role in this Wong Jing-directed film.

http://www.hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mht ... ay_set=eng

Character's name: Yu-Lung

On the topic of a collaboration with Gallen Lo: I don't have any information on that. If anyone wants to pursue it, Sanney's site might have some information using the search function: http://www.hkentreview.com/

Only in America...

Postby Casey » Fri Mar 04, 2005 1:13 am

An American distributor is releasing <b>Satan Return</b> as <i>Shaolin Vs. The Devil's Omen</i> on DVD.

I am appalled at the DVD cover art. Yes, I know Donnie Yen is listed as the star, but....

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0002 ... ZZZZZZ.jpg

Could have posted the DVD cover, but I didn't want to subject you to it. Yes, it's that atrocious.

Also, calros, thanks for the "The Possessed" research and addition to Francis' HKMDB filmography.

database

Postby Casey » Thu Mar 10, 2005 2:30 pm

calros, since Hands in the Hair aka Zuo tou isn't being released until tomorrow, shouldn't the year be corrected to 2005?

Also, when are you going to add Secret aka Bei mat to the database?

Thanks!!

You are right. Corrected.

I will add that film when somebody give me the english title. (Remember that "Secret" is only its literal translation title, as far I know) You will have to wait a little more!

mmmmmm

the cast is the same who made "97 Aces Go Places" (the original title, Zhui Qiang [Drunk Gun], is the name of the character performed by Tony Leung in "97 Aces... ") ...but I am not sure if it is the same movie (with another alias), its sequel or a new movie... I need more clues...

calros, with the cast listed, "97 Aces Go Places" was my first thought as well. But, Tony and Francis were certainly not dressed as they are in this dvd cover. :D And if so, has Alam Tam been demoted as the star?

Should I be posting these queries in the DB forum?

A general note about mainland releases of older HK films, the titles and covers are frequently different and/or misleading.

For example,
I recently picked up Stephen Chow's Triad Story re-titled as Last Brother:
http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/p ... on-videos/

I'd say if the cast matches, you can pretty much assume it's that film. Ignore the cover art and title.

From what I can tell, Secret is the English title. Here's a recently-release photo:

HK has an abundance of really talented, very appealing actors, and of all of them Francis Ng is my absolute favorite! He's just so compelling, so likeable, incredibly versatile and really, really funny. He can play anything. And he's always the best part of any movie he's in, even when the other movie includes the other great actors of his generation. Ugly Kwan is one of my favorite characters ever. (Also I think he's hot <--- yeah, I'm another female! Ha! )

My Whispering Plan (again)

Postby Casey » Sun Apr 10, 2005 12:47 am

Came across this cover art while "Googling" for images.

Image

http://movie.sycatv.net/movie_info.php?info_id=3854

http://movie.sycatv.net/movie_more.php?idtype=2

Here are the results when I Google the title:

As you can see, "My Whispering Plan" is in the search results.

It's downloadable, too:

And an alternate cover:

If this is a hoax, then it sure is a good one!

Can you download it in your PC and do 1 screenshot of Francis' credit in this movie?
