Hmm. HK flicks in the last 5 years. the industry has slowed up a bit for a while. Off the top of my head there are still some great productions coming out of the ex-colony:

Most of these are modern action with guns and triads, or comedy and arthouse drama. No period piece kung fuThere's more but I can't think right now. The shaw bros. dvd's would be great if you have an all-region player. Though Celestial told me they'll be released domestically in the future. Check out the uncut version of Master of the Flying Guillotine with Jimmy Wang Yu--uncut and in Mandarin with english subs--available domestically! Hope that helps a little.

Unfortunately, HK cinema had its worst year ever, producing only 50 films in 2004. HK has also not made many kung fu flicks lately, but there are a few out there, like The White Dragon, Hero and House of flying Daggers, as mentioned. Kung Fu Hustle and House of Fury are two due out that look promising, both with action choreographed by Yuen Woo Ping.

I think the last good HK film with Kung Fu for me was Gorgeous. The current crop of teeny bopper actors just can't cut it (except maybe Andy On, but he aint really one of the teeny gang). Bring back The Peking Opera Schools I say and send the Twins there!
