calros, thanks so much for your prompt response.

There is a new film missing from the filmography: Himalaya Singh

As for Francis' marital status:

Francis Ng Jun-Yu wed his girlfriend of four years, Fiona Wong Lai-Ping, in a ceremony at the luxury Sukhothai Bangkok Hotel yesterday. About fifty of the happy couple's family and friends were in attendance at the intimate affair that was kept private by vigilant hotel security. Entertainment circle personalities Lau Ching-Wan, Cheung Tat-Ming, Amy Kwok Oi-Ming and Ruby Wong Cheuk-Ling attended the wedding. Dayo Wong Chi-Wah was Ng's best man.

ONE LAST DANCE

New film starring Ng Chun Yu!!

New MediaCorp Raintree picture with international cast hopes to debut in Cannes

It is a genre that is becoming increasingly popular - the stylised Eastern gangster movie with audiences in both the East and West lapping it up.

And now, with the best actors from the East and West, MediaCorp Raintree Pictures is producing one such movie - a twist-filled, genre-bending production called "One Last Dance" with a surprise ending shot entirely in Singapore.

Daniel Yun, CEO, MediaCorp Raintree Pictures, said: "Is it a romantic comedy? Is it a love story? It's actually an action film. And it's the whole idea of someone committed to something and suddenly he sees the potential for romance but he is so caught up with his life of contract killing, revenge and then the music starts and he thinks this is his chance to ask the girl for One Last Dance."

Hong Kong actor Francis Ng of Infernal Affairs 2 fame plays the jaded contract killer and Taiwanese actress Vivian Hsu his love interest.

Playing a cameo role, 8 minutes onscreen as an Italian mafioso, is Hollywood veteran Harvey Keitel.

A well known face in Western gangster movies, Keitel has appeared in early Martin Scorcese movies and more recently in Quentin Tarantino hits like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs.

He is hoping to cross over to the East.

Keitel said: "I had heard of Raintree before. When 'One Last Dance' came to me, it seemed to be that someone was knocking on my door as I was looking at the door where the knock was emanating from. And so I am here and I have great hopes that I'm going to return to Asia with a few more films to be made with Raintree and Daniel Yun."

Raintree Pictures had picked up the script through contacts at film markets and decided that perhaps Singapore could be the location for the shoots.

After all Hong Kong's streets are too familiar and Los Angeles', too expensive.

The 40-plus locations the production team came up with, including a bridge in the Fullerton area, may just surprise many viewers familiar with Singapore.

The Media Development Authority is co-funding the $2.5 million picture with Raintree and other international partners with the Singapore Tourism Board also pumping money in.

With an international cast, a Brazilian director, Cantonese dialogue and Hollywood cameos, the film still manages to speak in one voice.

Film-makers hope to get the project ready for the Cannes Festival in the second quarter of next year. – CAN

Oh! Sorry Ms. Casey!

(you must be the only-only-only "Ms." in our Forum now) I hope you'll feel welcome here :D

On the other hand, I cannot add this Francis credit in our Db because firstly we must add the film, and to add this film we need its Big5... and its a film so recent that I don't find its Big5 !

So I will wait a few months :(

About your last post:

I think they are the nominees for the best actor for the 23rd HKFAA Film Awards (2004) Andy Lau Tak-Wah, Jacky Cheung Hok-Yau, Lau Ching-Wan, Francis Ng Jun-Yu and Simon Yam Tat-Wah (they are separate photos!) :D BTW, Francis did not win

second post:

(more or less) Eason Chan and Joey Yung attended to the premiere of the film "Nerve Different Companion" (Crazy N' the City). (They are the leading actors of that film) They also talk about Joey.

oops  now I see somebody added the info of that film in our Db. Francis does a supporting role, but the editor has added him as star of the movie.

In a few days I will try to "translate" your first post with Babelfish, Ms. Casey, to give you a gist... (if I can) :?

"Naughty Couple" (1994) was just on Hong Kong TV last night...one of the few films in which I have ever seen Francis Ng play a comic role. He is a second-string actor, or considered such here, it was funny tos ee him with so much hair  I'll add a new post on an actress I saw in this film, Chan Pui-ying, about whom I don't know anything.

Francis

I always thought of Francis as a comedic actor first. Even what would be considered his non-comic roles (Ugly Kwan) are imbued with humor. He also does stand up comedy and has acted in many comedies such as Fake Emperor, Beauty and the Breast, Easy Money, Fantasia, etc.
For a good comedy starring Francis I would recommend FROM ZERO TO HERO co-starring Cheng Pei Pei and former flame Anita Lee, where he plays an illustrator of the violent comic book "Superman in the Messy World". :)

Ms. Casey first post:

Francis Ng talks about his last film, "The Secret" directed by Lee Hong, in which he plays the leading role. The reporters asked him why he is playing the last years so many "neurotic" roles (as "Crazy N' the City", "Infernal Affairs 3" and this one) and he says that's his artistic talent. They also talk about his refined hairstyle
About his career, Francis says he has done the last years a lot of works: soap operas, stage play, and about 20 films by year, many of them only for the money :P and later he forgets them.
Finally he says he his not happy with the new direction of the HK film industry, and in the future he wants to direct his own movies again.

by Casey
calros, thank you so much for translating that article. Haven't found any other references on the 'net about "The Secret". :(

As for directing films, hope that doesn't mean he will be acting less. That would be a real loss to HK cinema.

To all: What kind of role would you like to see Francis Ng play?
