i LOVE horror/gore films.,

however chinese films seems very tame nowadays
boring, not at all scary etc.

the only films i saw that was interesting were bunman, eternal evils of asia. Run and kill

anyone recomend any recent good titles.

The new Fruit Chan film 'Dumplings' is excellent. Not really what I call horror but it's kinda disturbing.

Also check out Korean film 'Tale Of Two Sisters'. One of the best horrors in the last couple of years imo. Asian horror meets M. Night Shymalannanan...or however you spell it

One film I wouldn't recommend is Hex. Just watched it and was thoroughly disappointed.

Sure, there's something of interest for male viewers near the end , but the scares didn't work for me at all...

If you're a fan of RUN AND KILL, then by all means track down RED TO KILL from the same director, in which a mentally challenged Lily Chung faces all kinds of depraved defilement at the hands of sicko Ben Ng. Plenty of skin (most of it Lily's, some of it Ben's) and gore, plus the thing opens with a disturbed woman leaping from a ledge with her child in her arms, landing with a sickening squish as the kid's head sprays on the pavement.

Also recommended for fans of gore without a lot of serious pretensions getting in the way:

DAUGHTER OF DARKNESS (also with Lily Chung)
DAUGHTER OF DARKNESS 2
BROTHER OF DARKNESS (also with Lily Chung)
EBOLA SYNRDOME (Anthony Wong grinds up people patties and spits the ebola virus on people)
INNER SENSES ) not overly gory, but very well made by western horror standards.

THERE'S A SECRET IN MY SOUP (same story as Human Pork Chop)

I've always found Hong Kong horror quite tame, check out some films from Japan or elsewhere.

Not Sammi, but Miriam Yeung, who's low-rent Sammi-style antics even had me confused in the early days. I've heard she's quite good in this one, although it's not to all tastes.

And I rather enjoyed the Diana Pang Dan version of THE IMP, which probably showcases more of her "talents", not to mention those ofher co-stars, than just about any movie she's been in. Best scene was the big sex romp with Mark Cheng where she cleverly manages to come THIS CLOSE to showing her bush several times over, but never actually shows it. Not that I agree with that sort of thing, you know....

The original IMP is pretty good too, and fairly straight-faced for a Hong Kong horror movie made in 1981.
