This is another film I can't seem to track an more info down than is here:

www.hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mhtml?id=3033
www.imdb.com/title/tt0349510/

I should explain what I'm doing - I'm a big fan of Asian movies and I'm a big fan of zombie movies so obviously things like HK zombie movies are a great combination ;)

I am putting together a definitive list of zombie movies (or as good as it gets) for a magazine I'm helping out on and there are some tantalising films around like this one which appear to have very little information on them - hence my earlier post on another film:
www.hkmdb.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=41813

I am also interested in the hopping corpse (and the folklore surrounding ithem and their development in the films) and so was interested to see that "jiang shi" gets translated as "zombie" in that title. It is also one of the earliest films to mention jiang shi in their title along with this:

Jiang shi fu chou (1959)
www.imdb.com/title/tt0453116/

A film for which there is even less information :(

So any information is gratefully received ;)

I think there are some films that would just ruin the expectation if you saw it.

There are probably some that should never have been made - I'm reliably informed that Zombie Ninja Gangbangers is such a film:

Keeping the thread on early films with 殭屍 in the title - I was also wondering if anyone knew anymore about these early examples:

The Three-Thousand-Year-Old Vampire (1939)

Vampires of the Haunted Mansion (1939)

The Vengeance of the Vampire (1959)

Oh I'm sure they are bordering on the impossible to track down over here - I suppose that was why I was wondering if an expert in early HK ilms could fill in some details ;)

I suppose one of the interesting aspects (for me anyway) is that the titles for these two films are identical (only the translation changes):

Vampires of the Haunted Mansion (1939)
www.hkmdb.com/db/movies/view.mhtml?id=3 ... ay_set=eng

Zombie in a Haunted House (1959)

Vengeance of the Vampire (1959) and Zombie in a Haunted House (1959)were released by Shaw Brothers and MPGI/Cathay, respectively, so I suppose there's a small chance they'll surface as part of their current reissues. Though, they don't seem to be the type of titles they have releasing so far.

So far, I've found a few pre-1950's HK titles available but nothing earlier than 1947. Prior to that, it seems easier to find films made in Shanghai.
