who is this guy? Yonfan?

This is Yonfan...

I think we may have wrong information on this movie then. According to the cast list Yonfan plays Wang Wu, who is pictured in that screen capture. I agree, these two pictures certainly don't look like the same guy. Are there 2 Yonfan's out there? Guess I'll have to find a copy of this movie for the credits.

Yonfan is a photographer who turned art-house director - I was very surprised to see him with any acting credits, and suprised beyond credulity to see him listed in a martial arts film.

I suspect two people have been merged that shouldn't have been. I thought the actor in the Blade Of Fury pic was a mainland actor... my brain wants to call him Wang Yu but it's very unreliable on Chinese names :p I don't have the dvd here with me to grab credits from, unfortunately...

Yonfan has an alias of Yeung Fan. Maybe there are two guys with that name? The guy in Blade of Fury was definitely an experienced and accomplished martial artist. I'll try and get a copy of the movie as well and sort this out.
Searching on the web returns the same result - that Yonfan (Yeung Fan) was Wang Wu in the movie. I don't think anyone has this right. Anyone have Sammo's #? We can call him and ask.

The DVD sleeve art pictured in the database entry for this film (which enlarges quite nicely when you click on it) lists Yeung Fan in the cast names (right beside Ti Lung's face). And he's definitely not Yonfan. I seem to remember a time when those two names weren't merged, but I could be wrong.

I've been looking for solid confirmation of this for years now. I wrote a review a looooong time ago and basically credited him as Yeung Fan simply because I'd matched all the other actors to characters and I couldn't find any other websites (at that time) that even bothered to list and actor who played the main character, so I figured his had to be the one actor name on that sleeve I couldn't match with a face.

I'm assuming this fellow didn't do much after this film? Or has he been strictly a mainland actor since then?

I don't recognize the actor as doing much of anything after this movie, which is surprising considering the martial arts skills he displayed in the role. My guess would be to split this two names. Create a Yeung Fan (1) and list this movie as a start. It's definitely not the composer.

Checked in iPAC (according to it he only has made 2 movies in his life ) and created.
