If you are talking about his directorial films you must watch Warriors Two and Prodigal Son (known as his Wing Chun films). I also liked Knockabout and many people like Enter the Fat Dragon. For good R1 versions check out the Fortune Star label which is relatively inexpensive. I did not like his directorial debut Iron Fisted Monk which seemed more like a misogynistic exercise in filming. Winners and Sinners and My Lucky Stars are good too.

He's in tons of earlier films with small parts. Hand of Death is a must watch of his earlier films (no forgetting his part in Enter the Dragon.)

one of his many Wong Fung collaborations, where also Angela Mao and Carter Wong had a place, is Hap Ki Do, which he also action directed. Absolutely marvellous and still impressive fighting showcase, especially for Whang In Sik.

Yes! I completely agree! The action in that movie still amazes me with its precision and intensity. Among Sammo's best.

Just FYI, there is a scene where one of the actors is in blackface, which many people find offensive.

that's Lee Hoi San as the Jim Kelly of Enter The Fat Dragon. But hey, if American films could stereotype, Hong Kong filmmakers probably felt the need to laugh at such types as well. Not saying it's right, saying it's an age old thing.
