Does anyone know why this film is only available on VCD? It's almost a crime you can't get it on DVD.

Anyone know of any plans to give it a DVD release?

Universe still owns the home video rights to this title in Hong Kong (to the best of my knowledge), and I wouldn't be surprised if it turns up on a budget DVD one day when they're trawling their back catalogue for "unsung gems" to release at $40HK a pop! Mind you, expect a direct port of the original laserdisc master when they do eventually get around to it (and they will...after all, it only took them 9 years to release EBOLA SYNDROME on DVD; 7 years if you discount the introduction of the format).

hey,

but why turn to the past when you can earn money off the hot new stuff...sadly a case with HK companies and their catalogue titles today. And when they do go back...boy, oh boy...much can go wrong. Vcd's will become your best friend after a while, believe me. :)

Yeah I've got a lot more used to VCDs now (guessing what the subtitles say when you see a white or grey background), I've got a few VCDs now of stuff that's either not on DVD or are out of print.

I'll stick it on the list and see what happens as with a bunch of other things.

Also note that this film is sometime called "Taxi Judges" in English. I first caught it on TV in San Francisco in mid-1996, and it had that English subtitle.
