Hi everyone,

I am doing some research about the history of Malaysia and I am trying to find out the title of a HK movie from 1969. I am a bit confused as the title is something like "Fu Sing Ti Len" (Len/Ren as in person) but this is Mandarin and I was told it was a HK movie. It is about an alcoholic who at a climax point, I believe goes out on his car, drunk driving and he runs over his child. There was a popular song from the movie (same title). My parents had the cassette and it featured a woman lying on the road cradling a child and a car in the background.

According to local history, in the May 13, 1969 incident in Malaysia, some Malays were lying in wait to attack Chinese people outside of a cinema which was showing this movie in Kuala Lumpur. When the movie finished, the Chinese were attacked upon exiting the cinema. I'd like to confirm this event, but I don't know the name of the film. Please help!

Thanks!

If you're able to find out more about the events that transpired at that cinema, do share!
