Hi guys, I also run a wushu website (
www.beijingwushuteam.com), and we're doing an online petition for the US Wushu Team to be able to compete at the World Wushu Games. It only takes a few seconds, but if you and your friends could sign it, I'd really appreciate it -

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/475102458

These are people who /really/ do the kind of stuff you see in CTHD, Swordsman, Shaolin Soccer, etc (ok, maybe not Shaolin Soccer...)

/AND/ most of them are students of former Beijing Wushu Team teammates of Jet Li (Zhang Hong Mei and Hao Zhi Hua, Jet's teammates back in the 70s and 80s)

Let me know if you have any questions,

Thanks!

-Xiao Ka

this might be a little off subject, but wushu/martial arts is one of the true 'phenomenons' that /still/ exists. You think tarrot/palm reading or magicians are cool - why yes they are, but wushu to me is just as awesome, even though it's not widely publicized. Somebody mentioned on this board sometime ago the documentary on Wushu from Discovery Channel. I finally got a chance to see it, and I must say although I love wushu, I didn't know a thing about it prior to seeing this program. experts of Chinese martial arts possess abilities to do extraordinary things - like the kind of stuff you see in Tai Chi Master, CTHD, Swordsman, Shaolin Soccer, etc (ok, maybe not Shaolin Soccer...). You could serious throw a 200 pounder at a guy's chest and he would not even be hurt.

The world may never know the original art of Chinese wushu, as the gov banned its practice for several decades. I hope this is an art to never be lost. If one day I may have $30 million, I will donate a large portion to the Shaolin temple and other historical institutions.
