Reviewed by: dandan Date: 07/29/2007 Summary: fallen leaves return to their roots... zhao (zhao ben shan) is a construction worker in shenznen. when his co-worker and friend dies, zhao begins to fulfill a promise that he made; to return his body to his hometown. now, this isn't as easy as it sounds. zhao sets off on a bus, but soon finds himself hitch-hiking, walking a trying everything he can to get his friend's body home safely, without getting himself in trouble en route... a charming black comedy, from the mainland, which zhao ben shan pretty much carries on his shoulders. there's humour, drama and more than a few poingiant observations on the human condition, although the gentle pace may be a little slow for some viewers. it's by no means a classic, but it is a very enjoyable watch. good stuff...
