Reviewed by: STSH Date: 08/18/2014 Summary: Gorgeous looking atrocity Extreme Ecstasy follows roughly the same storyline as the original, but seems to take much longer getting there. The cinematography is astoundingly beautiful, but that's the end of the good news. The first in the series had little in the way of depth, but it looks like serious & weighty cinema compared to EE. The one hint of refinement and taste - the hero's incredible ability to spot fake art - is drowned out by the pursuit of pleasure. While this may sound tempting, it isn't. The hero gains the king's favour and is admitted to the inner sanctum of pleasure. A servant girl incurs the queen's displeasure, so the queen savagely beats her with anything to hand. The king tells off his queen, but not to save the servant. He points a blunderbuss at the poor girl and shoots her in the head. "This is what you must do to anyone who displeases you, my dear", he advises. I was bored up to this point, up to and including speeding *through* the sex scenes, which are uniformly dull. But when the king shot the servant, I switched to disgust and never recovered. Simply awful. Reviewer Score: 1
