Reviewed by: sharkeysbar Date: 04/28/2007 Summary: An early Danny Lee Sau Yin cop film This 1977 film features Danny Lee Sau Yin as a cop, I think it is one of the first times he appeared as a HK cop. He is a cop with a sense of justice and outrage at a vice scam going on in the film industry in the 1970s. He plays the role well and as well several actual Hong Kong directors appear (albeit briefly) being interviewed as the scandal unfolds. It is a sad film if based on a true-life scandal and a pure sexploitation film regardless. The film is told in flashback and at its conclusion it poses a question for the audience, an attempt at raising public discussion in the general public? It tells of the scams played out on naive, young wanna-be actresses and how they cope (to varying degress of success), but it isn't all heavy and serious. Just as suddenly as it poses a serious question, it jumps to more gratuitous nudity by the starlets. It is the first time I have seen nude pall-bearers at a funeral (and hopefully the last), nude speedboat driving and......... I think you get the picture. There were a few funny moments, particularly with some of the extras, one guy appearing as a customer seemed far too happy to be there, his eyes were popping out of his head with the naked nymphs floating around. An amusing yet also a sad film, I can't say it is enjoyable but I am glad to have seen it. It is worth a viewing, just. Reviewer Score: 6
