Summary: A must see!

Often you hear how good a film is then once you see it for yourself, you're utterly disappointed. With that said, Daggers 8 fortunately does not fall in that category. Meng Yuen Man gives you a solid performance in an early-Jackie-Chan-type role. Wilson Tong flaunts his extraordinary skill as a very capable martial artist and action director. Lily Li takes my breath away as one of Meng Yuen Man's (albeit reluctantly) kung teachers. Solid fights throughout and a satisfying end fight = a kung fu classic. Highly recommended.

Summary: Good

What a cool movie! One of the best old kung fu movies I have seen for a while. I remember this one like the back of my hand from watching it as a kid. Meng Yuen Man & Wilson Tong are excellent, much better than some of their earlier films 10 years before this. The story is reasonable for kung fu, but it’s the comedy added to the moves that makes it so good. Clearly inspired by movies like Drunken Master, but unlike a lot of other films that copy that concept, this actually works rather well. The other reviewer briefly summed up the story, and it is exactly what it says.

I will recommend this to those who like good kung fu movies, but I think this is near impossible to get hold of these days. You might be able to find dubbed versions around, unless someone releases it on DVD (unlikely, but you never know these days).

Summary: Wilson Tong is the man!!

Very nicely set up movie. A man runs away from home to learn kung fu, suspiciously all his masters are being assassinated one by one. It's a neat plot that you have to see. Very well choreographed fights by Tong. He's definitely up there in the fight choreography world. Good training sequences. A must see film, if you like classic Kung fu films. TWE came out with a lot of good kung fu films, this is one of them.
