All the special effects, fireworks and explosions in the world can't compensate for lazy scripting and direction (though a bit more Cherie Chung might have :p) - Chor Yuen definitely seems to have been "going through the motions" by 1984, and HPoDS is a lacklustre wu xia despite the gorgeous sets and the deployment of a full fireworks factory. Even the fights are boring, though there are some imaginative ideas in the representation of the supernatural skills the fighters possess (having learned even _more_ powerful techniques than in the original HSaDS films). Without more attention to creating drama, intrigue or even vague interest in what happens, it's all ultimately for naught though.

Summary: a continuation of the heaven sword, dragon sabre series

A continuation of this series, which i find a little fascinating, only because, as far as my memory is concerned, that part 2 was the ending of it all. This saga as a mini series i believe also finished where part 2 did also, so to have a continuation on this saga can only mean..............not sure, maybe money, maybe fans demand it, who knows as i am unfamiliar with this storyline!!

Basic premise is the emperor is manipulated by a kung fu master, which leads the monglians believing the Ming cult has killed there people. The princess and the mongolian hawk are rescued by Wu Jing, not knowing until later that he is actually the leader of the Ming Cult. RElations get worst when the mongolian princess is kidnap, and the price, is to give the bad guys the heaven sword and dragon sabre!!

The movies looks cheap, only because of the special fx going a little overboard (looking at the scene where they go into a tunnel, it looks more like a space craft with all thsoe flashing lights!!) and by todays standards outdated!!

Not all the Ming cult is involved either, i am assuming because of money restrictions, u do see Green bat at least.

I do have a question though (SPOILER) whatever happens to the left guardian who was bringing the princess back to her hidden spot? Did he die, or what??

A little OVer the top (in terms fo the poor special effects) with a decent plot, for fans of the series!!
