Reviewed by: dandan Date: 01/13/2007 Summary: 'the fast and the kung-furious'* james (frankie chan) and bond (max mok) are car thieves with class, relieving the upper classes of hong kong from the burden of porsche and ferrari ownership. their simple life becomes complicated when they become involved with hard-hitting, female police captain, tequilla (oshima yukari) and the coke smuggling michiko (nishiwaki michiko). i always seem to enjoy frankie chan films and this is probably the best i've seen. the plot is largely forgettable, but the cast are all on good form; the usual gags come at a decent pace and the action, which mixes car chases, gun-play and martial arts is all good. it's strange that it doesn't ever seem to be talked about, but it's a little gem... good stuff. * inspired by mr booth's suggestion that an american release would be renamed 'gone in 60 seconds of kung-fu'.

She plays a cop on the tail of car thieves, finaly having to team up with Frankie Chan who she's trying to arrest. The fight scenes are excellent and it's a film well worth hunting down. Reviewed by: MrBooth Date: 10/04/2005 Summary: 8/10 - Great 80's martial arts/action/comedy Frankie Chan directs and stars in this film about kung-fu fighting car thieves, lady cops and drug smugglers, released in the US as "Gone In 60 Seconds Of Kung Fu" (not really, but it should be true!). Car chases, fights, stunts, gags and some more fights add up to a solid bit of entertainment with zero depth. It's all very 80's, but when you're talking Hong Kong Action Cinema that's no bad thing at all, since that's when the territory was making bone-crunching death-defying modern day actioners that have never been equalled in any other time or place. Like a more light-hearted version of RIGHTING WRONGS, with more sports cars and a better-looking leading lady (Yukari Oshima, who is in especially fine fighting form). Reviewed by: Inner Strength Date: 05/26/2002 Summary: Average James (Frankie Chan) and Bond (Max Mok) (SNORE!!!) are criminals, whos forte is stealing sports cars. They are highly wanted by the police but join up with them in order to catch a rival gang who is wanted even more. So they team up with Tanguila (Yukari Oshima), an undercover cop who's been watching the gang for sometime. Sounds interesting? Thought not, well that's how it goes down, and not a lot else happens in the police/comedy. Still, it's entertaining for sure, and doesn't get boring, but for a film it's not the best production put together. [3/5] Reviewer Score: 6

She's a cop looking into a car-theft ring, who ends up teaming up with two of the thieves in order to take down a gang boss (Michiko Nishiwaki). It's another Frankie Chan film and is one of the most consistently entertaining HK films I've seen. [Reviewed by Anonymous]
