Many people said Andy Lau Tak Wa's film company Team Work hasn't made a good film yet, and I would tend to agree until now. Thanks for Your Love is a film that completely follows a formula without failure and delivered on promised entertainment. Andy and Rosamund are the perfect pair in a film reminiscant of the late 80s/early 90s Wong Jing productions starring Andy and Chingmy Yau. Worth a watch.

Lam Lam has a problem with intimacy, getting violent whenever sheis close to a man. After her longtime boyfriend Michael leaves her, she runs into Wah, recently jobless and homeless slacker. When she spots Michael with another woman, Lam Lam enlists Wah's help to win him back. This film's poor box office results is proof that Hong Kong tastes have changed. Like many of Andy's early 90s romantic comedies, this is a simple love story filled with lots of humor, plenty of style, and just a little bit of whimsical fastasy. The comedy is hilarious, ranging from elaborate visual gags to pop culture references (Andy even makes fun of his 'wet look'). Production values are high, with well decorated locations and costumes establishing a consistent visual style. Centro, the digital effects company that handled compoisiting for _The Umbrella Story_, also does some work here. While the work still has a ways to go technically, the effects add a really nice touch to the story. My only complaint is a small misstep in the ending. This is my pick for underrated film of the year.
