Summary: Funny funny

In 1996, Mr. Mumble was a huge hit. A sort of sequel to Jackie Chan's City Hunter, the laughs and action are non-stop. Director Yuen never made another movie after this one, so that should tell you something. This is classic disposable Hong Kong filmmaking at its best and its worst.

Summary: Unexpectedly good

While Micheal Chow doesn't completely pull off his role, but the humour and the action do well in this movie.

All the ladies are sexy, humour comes unexpectedly and is funny and the action is face paced and enjoyable!!

Worth viewing!!

This flick was made just for Michael Chow. He stars as Ben Chow or Mang Boh which is the Hong Kong equivalent of Ryu Saeba from the City Hunter comic. This movie is more true to the comic series than Jackie Chan's CITY HUNTER. Yeah, both flicks depict Mang Boh chasing women, but in this one, you get to see Mang Boh use his modified .44 Magnum used with a shoulder brace. The flick starts off with Mang Boh getting fired from the Royal Hong Kong SDU after a botched hostage drill. Soon after his firing, Mang Boh meets a beautiful lady, Sheron (Pauline Suen), who he tries to flirt with. One event leads to another, and next thing you know, Mang Boh is hired to protect Sheron from some killers. Mang Boh soon finds out who the killers are after Sheron's father retires from triad life. It seems like Uncle Yee (Chow Chi-Fai), the right-hand-man of Sharon's father, is the guy behind everything and badly wants to be compensated for his past work. In order to get his due, he has hired members of Mang Boh's former SDU team to carry out his work. I found this flick enjoyable to watch. Michael Chow was funny and Pauline Suen looked good.

Summary: Truly awful !

The ingredients for this Michael Chow vehicle seem promising.
Chow plays the title character, a comic action figure much like many of the roles Jackie Chan
plays. He and his tall and bald and very big partner (Eric Kee, who also produced) are
caught drinking and womanizing in a bar when they should be on duty, on their sniper team.
Mumble is fired for incompetence, the gets involved with a pretty young woman on the run
from her triad fiance. The triad pays Mumble to get her to return, but then triad members
start getting bumped off.

Should have been exciting and funny, but the pace is so woefully slow and the direction so
dull that even the few jokes fall totally flat.
Don't be fooled ! Avoid this one.
