Well, this one has Lam Ching Ying coming down from the heavens (he was a talkative gold turtle) saving the world with his horse's tail whip in hand. Hmmmm...anyway, this was said to have been made in 1988 but it looks even older than that! Anyway, the last reel is kind of entertaining with him fighting off "hopping vampires' that don't look like the kind we all know and love. The Peking Opera music is quite good though. Only for fans of the great Taoist Priest..otherwise, you might hate this one.

Reviewed by: STSH Date: 03/13/2001 Summary: Nothing special Lam Ching Ying plays Cho Pin as an adult. I could find no explanation of the title "Wong Dai Sin", though Cho Pin is clearly the title character. As Ching Ying's taoist priest roles go, this one is about average. His one-monk-against-many-opponents are quite entertaining without being anything spectacular. All in all, pretty average. The end credits were a joy to read. Very unusually for a HK film, all the actors were listed against their character names, and in clear bold print. Now, if I could just learn heaps more Chinese names, perhaps I could have recorded them ! Reviewer Score: 4
