Summary: Unexceptional

Apart from Elsa Yeung fans, I can't think of any reason to recommend this movie. It's an unusual role for Elsa. The films I've seen her in have her as either an action star or occasionally as a dramatic actress. She seems to be hovering somewhere inbetween here. As a Women In Prison flick, it barely rises above the mundane. There's not much gritty realism here. All the main female prisoners look glamorous, and clearly have access to make-up kits and hairdressers. There are a few bitch fights, of course, but the fight choreography is awful.

This film does differ from other WIPs in one respect. They are usually pretty grim affairs. But with RF, the mood changes suddenly and for no apparent reason about ten minutes before the end. It's as though the director yelled "cut", and all the characters went off and took happy pills. Weird.
