Reviewed by: dleedlee Date: 12/01/2003 Widowed, single mother, Lai-Ping (Pak Ying) bumps into old schoolmate Kar-bo (Cheung Ying) at a teahouse. Their old love is rekindled and they get married. The two don't reveal the existence of the daughter living in the country to his family. The trouble starts when the daughter appears. His mother (Ma Siu-ying), brother (Ko Lo-Chuen) and sister-in-law (Lam Miu Miu?) mistreat Lai-Ping and the daughter, finally ousting them from the house. Lai-ping secretly struggles to put her through school while the principal (Wong Man-Lei) raiser her. Another all star cast, Cheung Ying only sticks around for the first half while the elegant Wong Man-Lei holds up the second half. Pak Yin, as usual, is wonderful throughout playing both a young woman and aging mother. Reviewer Score: 7
